4.Click the Query Modem button to display the response status of your modem. You should see a dialog box similar to Figure 2-17.

If your modem is not responding, it may be due to a conflict between the modem and another peripheral device. To resolve the conflict, you must change the settings of your modem.

3.In the Modem Properties dialog box, select Standard Modem and then click the Remove button.

4.Click the OK button.

5.Shut down your computer and then remove the modem.
