Section 3 - Configuration

Extender Setup

This section allows you to setup and configure the Extender Mode feature of your camera. Extender Mode allows your camera to extend the range of your existing wireless network by repeating the signal it receives. You can choose to use the same network name and settings as your existing wireless network, or you can create a new one.

Enable Check this box to enable Extender Mode.

Mode:

Host Wireless This shows the name of the Host wireless network that the camera is

Network Name: connected to and will extend.

Extended Select an option:

Wireless • Same as Host Wireless Network Name: Your extended network will

Network Name use the same name and settings as your Host network. Your devices

(SSID): can use the same wireless information to connect to both the Host and Extended networks.

Create a New Wireless Network Name: This allows you to manually set the name and security used for the extended network.You will need to add this information for each wireless device that connects to this Extended network.

Maximum Set the maximum number of clients that are allowed to connect to the

Security Mode: If you choose to Create a New Wireless Network Name, you can set your wireless security options here.

None - No wireless encryption will be enabled. All data sent over the wireless connection could be viewed by third parties.

WEP -WEP is the simplest form of wireless encryption, and should only be used if you devices do not support WPA/WPA2 encryption.

WPA/WPA2 - This is currently the most advanced encryption method. Enter a Pre-shared Key (password) in the text box provided. Wireless clients will require this password in order to access your extended network.
