RECEIVER

SPEAKER LEVEL IN

3 (best for amps/receivers with no LFE/subwoofer or pre-out jacks)

1.Power-off the amplifier/receiver and disconnect the subwoofer from the AC socket.

2.Connect standard speaker cables from the speaker output terminals of the amplifier/receiver. Most amplifiers and receiver speaker terminals allow two sets of wires to be connected to one terminal set (one for the main speaker and one for the sub- woofer). [IMPORTANT NOTE: One terminal on each channel input is marked with a red band (+) and the other is marked with a black band (–). Make certain that you connect the wire from the red (+) terminal of your amplifier or receiver to the red (+) terminal of the subwoofer and the wire from the black (–) termi- nal of your amplifier or receiver to the black (–) ter- minal of the subwoofer. It is essential to connect all speakers in the system to the amplifier in the same way (in correct polarity). If you experience poor bass, one or more of the channels may be connected in incorrect polarity and needs to be rewired. Pay close attention and connect positive to positive; negative to negative on all channels.]

3.Connect the subwoofer to an AC power source and turn it on (see page 7).

4.If the system is 2-channel, skip to step 8.

5.If the receiver is a multi-channel device, turn on the receiver’s power and access the “speaker setup” or “speaker configuration” menu.

6.Set the subwoofer to “None” or “Off”.

7.Set front L&R speakers as “Large”.

8.Proceed to page 17 for subwoofer adjustment and system tweaking.

WIRELESS CONNECTION

4 1. In order to connect the subwoofer wirelessly, you must purchase an optional Definitive Technology wireless adaptor kit.

2.Follow the directions supplied with the wireless kit to connect the system.

OTHER CONNECTIONS

12V trigger (OPTIONAL): Connect a cable with 3.5mm tip/ring male plugs to the 12V trigger output of the system’s receiver or preamp/processor for one-button system turn-on.

IR Remote: In installations where the subwoofer is in a cabinet or otherwise blocked, the remote will not work. Connect an IR remote repeater eye (optional, available from most audio/video specialty dealers) to the IR remote jack on the subwoofer’s amplifier panel. Position the repeater eye within clear view of your main listening position.

6000, 4000 specifications

Definitive Technology, known for its commitment to high-fidelity audio, has made significant strides with its BP-4000 and BP-6000 speakers. These models stand out for their engineering excellence and advanced features that provide a rich listening experience.

The BP-4000 is engineered with a unique bipolar design, which enhances the spatial characteristics of sound by radiating audio both front and rear. This design allows for a broad soundstage and immersive experience, making it ideal for music enthusiasts and home theater setups. Its 8-inch bass driver delivers deep, powerful low frequencies, while the aluminum dome tweeters ensure precise high-frequency reproduction. The combination of these elements results in well-balanced sound, capable of filling larger rooms with clarity and depth.

On the other hand, the BP-6000 takes performance a step further with its robust build quality and additional features. It sports a similar bipolar configuration but includes dual 8-inch bass drivers, which significantly boosts its low-end performance. The frequency response of the BP-6000 extends lower than that of the 4000, providing a more profound bass response that is ideal for movie soundtracks and bass-heavy music genres. Moreover, the speaker is outfitted with a custom-designed 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter that enhances detail in the treble frequencies, ensuring an extended, airy sound that captivates the listener.

Both models incorporate Definitive Technology's patented Forward-Focused Bipolar Technology, which minimizes distortion and maximizes audio precision. The speakers are also equipped with integrated 300-watt amplifiers, providing ample power for dynamic sound reproduction without clipping or fatigue.

For connectivity, the BP-4000 and BP-6000 come equipped with versatile input options, facilitating seamless integration into various audio setups. Additionally, both speakers feature a sleek, modern design that blends aesthetics with functionality, making them fitting additions to any home decor.

In conclusion, Definitive Technology's BP-4000 and BP-6000 speakers exemplify the brand's dedication to innovation and quality. With advanced technologies, superior sound performance, and thoughtful design, these models offer an exceptional auditory experience for both casual listeners and audiophiles alike. Whether used for music or movies, they promise to deliver an unforgettable sound journey.
