Replacing the Palm-Rest

Procedure

1Align the palm-rest over the computer base.

2Press down on the palm-rest to snap it into place.

3Slide the touchpad cable and the power-button cable into the connectors on the system board and press down on the connector latches to secure the cables.

4Replace the screws that secure the palm-rest to the system board.

5Close the display and turn the computer over.

6Replace the screws that secure the palm-rest to the computer base.

Postrequisites

1Replace the keyboard. See "Replacing the Keyboard" on page 29.

2Replace the optical-drive assembly. See "Replacing the Optical-Drive Assembly" on page 21.

3Follow the instructions from step 3 and step 4 in "Replacing the Memory Module(s)" on page 17.

4Replace the battery. See "Replacing the Battery" on page 13.

5Follow the instructions in "After Working Inside Your Computer" on page 9.
