resolution
Indication of how finely an image is resolved into pixels. Often
measured in dots per inch (dpi) or pixels per inch (ppi).

Small representations of images.
TIFF
A file format for storing color and grayscale images in files with
little or no data compression. (TIFF files made with EPSON
digital cameras receive no data compression.) Saving data in the
TIFF format results in files that are larger and have finer image
quality than image files with greater data compression, such as
JPEG and other format files. See JPEG.
TWAIN
A type of interface protocol that makes input peripherals,
such as scanners or digital cameras, easier to access directly
from application programs.
USB
Universal Serial Bus. A hardware interface for connecting one
or more low-speed peripherals, such as a keyboard, mouse,
scanner, or printer, to the computer.
USB hub
A device that normally provides four TYPE A sockets to increase
the number of USB ports on a computer.
