Comments:

Turns proportional mode on and off.

The following values can be used for n:

1:Turns mode on.

0:Turns mode off.

The width of proportional characters varies from character to character. Therefore, a narrow letter like i receives less space than a wide letter like W. Proportional character widths are given in the Appendix. This command overrides fixed cpi fonts. When proportional is cancelled, the previously selected font is used. Graphic characters are printed in fixed cpi only; proportional mode is recommended for use with Roman and Sans Serif fonts only.

SI

Select Condensed Mode

Format:

ASCII code: SI

Decimal:15

Hexadecimal: 0F

Comments:

Prints characters at about 60 percent of their normal width. For example, the condensed 10 cpi mode has 17 characters per inch. Condensed mode cannot be combined with 15 cpi. Condensed can be turned on and off by SelecType, the SI command, or DIP switch 1-6.
