Print Quality Problems

Horizontal banding

Try one or more of these solutions:
❏Make sure that the printable side of the paper is face up in the
sheet feeder.
❏Run the Head Cleaning utility to clear any clogged ink
nozzles. See “Cleaning the Print Head” on page 65.
❏Make sure tha t the Media T ype selected in the Cont rol Panel
is appropriate for the type of media loaded in the printer.
❏Make sure that the position of the adjust lev er is appropriate
for the media type. When printing on media of normal
thickness, set the adjust lever to the “0” position. When
printing on envelopes or thick media, set the position to “+”.
Internal printer parts
need adjustment or
replacement.
Turn the printer off, and after a
few seconds, turn it on again. If

The storage media or
PC card is not
compatible with this
printer.
Use a compatible storage media
or PC card. See “Loadable
storage media” on page 25.
