How to Set Up the Print Server

This chapter explains how to set up the print server. This includes connecting the print server to the network, installing EpsonNet WinAssist/MacAssist, and using EpsonNet WinAssist/ MacAssist to assign an IP address to the print server.

Connecting the Print Server to the Network

Follow the steps below to connect the print server to the network.

wWarning:

Before you install or uninstall the print server, be sure to turn off the printer and unplug the AC adapter from the wall outlet to prevent electric shock.

cCaution:

❏Do not place anything on top of the print server.

❏Leave adequate room around the print server for easy operation.

❏Be sure to use the AC adapter shipped with this package.

1.Make sure the printer is turned off.

2.Plug the print server into the printer’s parallel interface connector and secure it with the wire clips.

3.Connect the network cable to the print server, and connect the other end to the network.
