Flash off
The flash is disabled, even when adequate
lighting is not available. Use this setting
for special effects, or when flash
photography is prohibited.
Note:
After taking a flash photo, the flash icon blinks until the flash
is fully recharged.
Taking Pictures Using the Viewfinder
Using the viewfinder instead of the LCD monitor
when taking pictures helps save battery power and
can make it easier for you to hold the camera steady
when pressing the shutter button.
1. Turn the camera’s dial switch to On and wait until
the status light beside the viewfinder turns green.
The lens automatically extends out from the
camera.
Note:
If you do not press any buttons on the camera for 60
seconds, the camera turns itself off automatically to
save battery power. To turn the cam era back on, press
the shutter button, or turn the camera's dial switch to
Off, then back On again.
2. Look straight through the viewfinder and center
your subject in the cross-hairs.
Note:
The frame in the viewfinder indicates the area cap tured
when taking pictures at close range.
