Selecting subtitles
Use the SUBTITLE button to select DVD subtitles.
Repeated presses of this button cycle through available languages on a disc until OFF is reached (no subtitle).
<Subtitles do not always appear immediately after the language has been selected. It may be necessary to wait a few seconds until the subtitles appear.
<Some captions on some discs cannot be removed or changed using this button. Additionally, a disc must have at least one captioning language available for this to work. Some discs may have only one

<Some discs cannot have their subtitles changed in the way described here. If you attempt to select a different subtitle with these discs, the “prohibit” mark is shown on screen.

Lip sync
This function allows you to adjust the synchronization of the video and audio portions of a DVD.
Press the LIP SYNC button to display the current lip sync value (default is 0). Use the left and right cursor buttons to adjust the value. Positive values mean that the sound is delayed relative to the picture.
<Press LIP SYNC again to cancel this setting. Any other operational display appearing on screen will also cancel this setting. Note that lip sync should be cancelled if you need to use the left and right cursor buttons to navigate menus, etc.
<The lip sync value you set is stored when you turn the unit off, and will be remembered next time you turn the unit on again.

Display dimming
The display on the main unit can be dimmed to suit the environment in which you listen to music or watch video. There are three levels and an “off” setting.
Use the FL DIMMER button to cycle between these settings.
<Note that the OFF setting is not memorized when the power is turned off. When the unit is switched off with the display off, and then turned on again, the display is reset to the minimum brightness.
<In OFF mode, when you press a button such as PLAY, the illuminations turn temporarily on.
