Jambalaya épicée aux crevettes et saucisses

Ingrédients :

2 tasses

saucisse, en dés

1 lb

crevettes congelées, décortiquées et nettoyées (dégelées)

2

oignons moyens, hachés grossièrement

2

branches de céleri, tranchées

1/2

poivron vert, épépiné et en dés

1/2

poivron rouge, épépiné et en dés

1boîte de 28 oz de tomates entières

1/4 t. purée de tomates

3

gousses d’ail émincées

1 c. à thé

persil sec

1 c. à thé

thym

1 c. à thé

sauce TabascoMD

2clous de girofle

2c. à table huile d’olive

1t. riz blanc non cuit

Instructions :

Faites brunir la saucisse à feu moyen dans un large poêlon, en remuant jusqu’à ce que tous les côtés brunissent. Ajoutez la saucisse au pot de céramique. Ajoutez le reste des ingrédients, à l’exception des crevettes, au pot de céramique et mélangez bien. Couvrez et faites cuire pendant 8 heures à faible température ou 4 heures à haute température. Une heure avant de servir, mettez au réglage élevé et incorporez les crevettes.

Minestrone aux légumes

Ingrédients :

2 t.

bouillon de légumes ou de poulet

2 t.

jus de tomates

1/2 c. à thé

feuilles de basilic séchées

1/2 c. à thé

sel

1/4 c. à thé

feuilles d’origan séchées

1/4 c. à thé

poivre

carottes moyennes, hachées (1 tasse)

2

branches de céleri, hachées (1 tasse)

1oignon moyen, hachés (1/2 tasse)

1/2 t. champignons frais (3 onces)

2gousses d’ail émincées

boîte de 20 oz de tomates en dés, non égouttées

1 tasse

rotinis non cuits

 

Fromage parmesan râpé, si désiré

Instructions :

Mélangez tous les ingrédients dans la mijoteuse, sauf les pâtes et le fromage. Couvrez et faites cuire à feu bas pendant 7 à 8 heures, ou jusqu’à ce que les légumes soient tendres. Incorporez les pâtes. Couvrez et faites cuire à feu élevé pendant 15 à 20 minutes, ou jusqu’à ce que les pâtes soient tendres. Saupoudrez chaque portion de fromage.

Using Your Slow Cooker

Prepare recipe according to instructions.

Place prepared food into the removable ceramic pot and cover with the glass cover.

Plug the unit into an electrical outlet and switch to desired temperature setting (Low, High or Keep Warm) position. It is not necessary to stir the ingredients, leave the cooking to the slow cooker.

Cooking time differs by the amount of ingredients, room temperature and many other factors. Adjust the cooking time in reference to the actual result.

Repeatedly removing the glass cover will decrease the temperature in the ceramic pot.

Certain dishes may not cook if the room temperature is below 50C or 410F.

Carefully lift the glass cover away from you. Remember there is steam

trapped under the glass cover.

*Note: The glass cover and the ceramic pot are hot. Use a cloth or pot holder to hold them. Exercise caution to avoid burns.

When finished, turn to "Off" position and unplug the unit. You can serve the meal in the removable ceramic pot.

Let ceramic pot and glass cover cool completely before washing.

Removing Cover and Ceramic Pot

Note: The glass cover and the ceramic pot are hot. Use a cloth or pot holder to hold them.

When removing the cover, tilt so that the opening faces away from you to avoid being burned by the steam.

The sides of the metal housing of the slow cooker get very warm. Use oven mitts or pot holders to remove the ceramic pot.

The removable ceramic pot can be used for serving the meal at the table.
