4.3OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
4.3.1Operate units with the roll bar in the raised and locked position and use seat belt. There is no rollover protection when the roll bar is down. If it is necessary to lower roll bar do not wear the seat belt. Raise the roll bar as soon as clearance permits.
4.3.2Open fuel
4.3.3Starting Engine:
Brake must be engaged, motion control levers out (neutral lock position) and PTO switch “OFF” to start engine. (It is not necessary for the operator to be in the seat to start the engine.)
On a cold engine, place the throttle midway between the “SLOW” and “FAST” positions and push choke lever forward (except Kohler EFI units) into the “ON” position. Turn ignition switch to the “start” position. Release the switch as soon as the engine starts.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT crank the engine continuously for more then ten (10) seconds at a time. If the engine does not start, allow a 60 second cool- down period between starting attempts. Failure to follow these guidelines can burn out the starter motor.
After starting a cold engine (except Kohler EFI units), gradually return choke to the “OFF” position as the engine warms up.
On a warm engine, place the throttle midway between the “SLOW” and “FAST” positions and leave the choke in the “OFF” position.
