About this Guide

This guide contains installation, configuration, and operation information for two families of Extron MTP transmitters and receivers.

•• MTP products that are compatible with:

Extron Enhanced Skew-FreeAV UTP cable

Category (CAT) 5, 5e, and 6 shielded twisted pair (STP), unshielded twisted pair (UTP), or foil shielded twisted pair (FTP) cable.

•• MTP C7 [CAT 7, C7] products that are compatible with Shielded Twisted Pair 201 (STP201) or CAT 7 cable only.

In this guide, any reference to these products refers to either family, unless explicitly stated.

NOTE: For clarity and where applicable, in this guide, the CAT 5, 5e, 6 versions are referred to as non-C7 MTPs.

This guide details the installation and operation of the following products:

•• MTP T 15HD A twisted pair (TP) transmitter

•• MTP RL 15HD A receiver with loop-through

•• MTP RL 15HD A SEQ receiver with loop-through and skew equalization In this guide:

•• The term "transmitter" refers specifically to the MTP T 15HD A transmitter.
