Emergency Alert Radio include:

Alert Function: Your Emergency Alert Radio will sound an alert tone when it receives a weather emergency broadcast from NOAA.

7 Weather-Channels:Allows you to select one of the 7 NOAA weather broadcast channels. (Note: The channel that gives you the best reception may not be the station that broadcasts information for your location or county. Check with NOAA/NWS for the correct channel and station).

AM/FM: Allows you to listen to your favorite AM or FM radio station.

NOTE:

The radio must be in ALERT mode to receive the NOAA Alert signal.

Choosing A Location

For Installation

The WX-17 is designed for portable operation.

In portable and non-portable operations, the best location is the one that can clearly receive the NOAA weather broadcast.

The best location to install the unit is:

-Clear of any obstructions or metal surface.

-Near windows of large openings for best radio reception.

-Near an AC Power Outlet (if desired).

-Near to where the user(s) would normally stay

— e.g. in a bedroom, kitchen, or in an office.

NOTE:

Keep the radio away from interference sources- e.g. motors, computers, TV’s or microwave ovens.

To avoid damage to the product, do not expose to direct sunlight, extreme heat or humid environments for prolonged periods.
