button is pressed, their face may not be in the area indicated by the green border when the picture is taken.

If qFACE DETECTION

ON RED EYE REMOVAL ON is selected, the pic-

ture will be processed to

reduce red-eye before it is recorded.

Intelligent Face Detection Intelligent Face Detection is recommended when using the self-timer for group- or self-portraits (pg. 26).

When a picture taken with Intelligent Face Detection is displayed, the camera can automatically select faces for red-eye removal (pg. 44), playback zoom (pg. 36), slide shows (pg. 68), and trimming (pg. 43).
