KFORMAT

Format internal memory or a memory card. If a memory card is inserted in the cam- era, this option will format

the memory card. If no memory card is inserted, this option will format internal memory. Tap OK to begin formatting. To exit without formatting, tap BACK.

3Cautions

•All data—including protected pictures—will be de- leted from the memory card or internal memory. Be sure important fi les have been copied to a computer or other storage device.

•Do not open the battery cover during formatting.

MAUTO POWER OFF Choose the length of time

before the camera turns off automatically when no oper- ations are performed. Shorter

times increase battery life; if OFF is selected, the camera must be turned off manually. Note that regardless of the option selected, the camera will not turn off automatically when connected to a printer (pg. 52) or computer (pg. 58) or when a slide show is in progress (pg. 68).

2Tip: Reactivating the Camera

To reactivate the camera after it has turned off auto- matically, close and reopen the lens cover or press and hold the pbutton (pg. 14).
