Press e(p) to select Macro mode. Press e(p) again to cancel Macro mode.

When setting or mode, the camera sets to Macro mode automatically.

Effective flash range

Approx. 30 cm to 80 cm (1.0 ft. to 2.6 ft.)

When taking a picture using the flash for a wide angle shot, the camera lens might cast a shadow in the frame. In such case, increase the distance from the subject a little and zoom in.

Use a tripod to prevent camera shake in Macro mode. Any of the following cancels Macro mode:

ZUsable Memory Cards

You can use the xD-Picture Card and the SD Memory Card with the FinePix F40fd / FinePix F45fd. In this Owner’s Manual, these cards are expressed as “Memory Card”.

Up, down, left, and right are indicated by black triangles in the Owner’s Manual. Up or down is shown as nor o, and left or right is shown as por q.
