AF MODE

 

is off (pg. 19). Regardless of

the option selected, the camera will focus on the subject in the center of the monitor when macro mode is on (pg. 23).

■iAF MODE: wCENTER

The camera focuses on the M subject in the center of the monitor. This option can be used with focus lock.

■iAF MODE: xMULTI

When the shutter button is pressed halfway, the camera detects high-contrast subjects near the center of the monitor and selects the focus area automatically.

Note

The focus area will not be displayed if the camera is unable to detect the subject. Select wCENTER and compose the picture using focus lock (pg. 21).
