If you see arcing, press the CANCEL/OFF button and correct the problem.

Arcing is the microwave term for sparks in the oven. Arcing is caused by:

nThe metal shelf not installed correctly so it

touches the microwave wall.

nMetal or foil touching the side of the oven.

nTurntable ring support not installed correctly.

nFoil not molded to food (upturned edges act like antennas).

nMetal, such as twist-ties, poultry pins, or gold-rimmed dishes, in the microwave.

nRecycled paper towels containing small metal pieces being used in the microwave.

nOnly use microwave shelf when reheating on more than one level. DO NOT store the oven shelf in the microwave. See operating instructions for Oven Shelf..
