The tuning head plate consists of six machine

heads on a metal plate. The machine heads are

attached to the headstock with bushings and

small screws.

 

To install the tuners:

 

1.Place the six bushings into the holes on the face of the headstock (Figure 6). The holes may need to be widened with a peghead reamer or a round file. DO NOT widen the holes too much—the bushings should fit snugly.

2.Place a wooden block on the bushings and lightly tap the block with a hammer (Figure 7) until the bushings are seated against the face of the headstock.

3.Slide the machine heads through the bush- ings from the back face of the headstock.

4.Align the tuning head plate over the mounting holes and secure with #3 x 38" black screws as shown in Figure 8.
