REMOTE CONTROL BASICS
Thisremote control gives youeasy access to all the features
ofa DISH Network satelliteTV receiver. Maybebest of all,
thisremote lets you controlDishPVR features. Thesefeatures
letyou record audio and video with full digitalquality,
withouta VCR.
Also,you can set up the remote to controlas many as three
devicesalong with the receiver. These can be TVs, VCRs,
DVD players, cable TV boxes, tune rs, or audio amplifiers.

REMOTE CONTROL BATTERIES

Theremotecontrol comes with AAA batteries.
When you replace old batte ries, you should
replace all of the batteries. Use batteries o f the
samekind, for example, alkaline or c arbon
zinc,and don’tmix batteries of differentkinds.
Alkaline batteries last lon ger.
1.Press down on the battery cover’s
toplatch and lift the cover off.
2.Take out all of theold batteries.
3.Put the new batteries in. Make sure
youmatch the plus (“+”) ends with the
plusmarkings on the battery case.
4.Fit the batterycover’sbottom tab
backinto the slot at the bottom of the
batterycase, and snap the cover back
intoplace.

REMOTE CONTROL SIGNALS: UHF AND IR

Theremotecontrolusesboth Ultra-High Frequency (UHF)r adio
signalsand Infra-Red (IR) lightsignals to control the receiver
butuses only IR signals to control otherdevices.
IRsignals travel only short distances(40 feet or less),
andcan’t go throughwalls or other solid objects.
You must pointthe remote control rightat the device
youwant to control, with no objects to blockthe signal path.
