Whole Grain Waffles

Buckwheat Waffles

In a large bowl, mix together the buckwheat flour, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Set aside. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and butter. Pour egg mixture into dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Pour batter onto waffle maker.

Makes 4 cups (1 L) batter.

Apple Cinnamon Stix

14 teaspoon (2.5 ml) ground cloves

1 cup (250 ml) apple, finely diced

Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl; stir well. Add eggs, milk, and oil stir with wire wisk until well combined. Pour 12 cup (125 ml) batter into each of the Stix grids. Bake about 5 minutes. Yields 24 Stix.

Gingerbread Stix

214 cups (560 ml) all purpose flour 12 teaspoon (2.5 ml) salt

114 teaspoons (6.25 ml) baking soda

1 teaspoon (5 ml) ginger

1 cup (250 ml) molasses

12 cup (125 ml) milk

1 egg

14 cup (60 ml) butter (melted) or vegetable oil

In a large bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, butter, and milk. Add egg mixture to dry ingredients and mix until thor- oughly mixed. Pour batter onto waffle maker. Makes 3 cups (750 ml) batter.

Pizza Stix

2cups (500 ml) biscuit mix 13 cup (80 ml) milk

2tablespoons (30 ml) oil

1teaspoon (5 ml) Italian seasoning 12 teaspoon (2.5 ml) garlic powder

12 cup (125 ml) grated Parmesan cheese

Whisk together all ingredients. Let sit five minutes. Pour batter onto waffle maker.
