C. Mantel
A combustible mantel may be positioned no lower than 12 in. (305 mm) above the top of the fireplace opening. The combustible mantel may have a maximum depth of 12 in. (305 mm). Combustible trim pieces that project no more than
NFPA211.
D. Sidewalls/Surrounds
Adjacent combustible side walls must be located a minimum of 24 in. (610 mm) from the fireplace opening. If you are us- ing a decorative surround constructed of combustible ma- terial, it must be located within the shaded area defined in Figure 8.8. Short stub walls are also acceptable if they are contained within the shaded area.

Fire Risk
Finish all edges and fronts to clearances and specifications.
•Metal fireplace front may be covered with non- combustible material only.
•Do NOT overlap combustible materials onto fireplace front.
•Install combustible materials up to specified clearances on top front and side edges.
•Seal joints between the finished wall and fireplace top and sides using only a 300° F minimum sealant.

This fireplace has been tested and listed for use with doors as specified in Section 12.B. Fireplace Components. Please refer to the manual packed with each set of doors for instal- lation instructions.
