Understanding the Directory

Tape Number

Identifies the tape in the VCR.

Number of Programs

Shows the number of programs recorded on the tape.

Tape Bar

Shows the length of a recorded program and its location on the tape.

Recording Time Shows the actual recording time. If the tape speed (SP/EP) was changed during recording, the recording time at the EP speed will be shown.

Date

Displayed if the recorded program did not have a program title signal.

Start Time

• If the clock is not set, "--/--", "--/--" will be displayed.

Channel

• If you use a cable box to receive all channels, the cable box output channel

Day of the Week

will always be displayed.

Program Title

• If a DSS program has been recorded using the timer, LINE 1 is always

 

displayed no matter which channel is recorded.

 

• When a broadcast program with a program title signal is recorded, program

 

title appears. If the title is too long, all the title characters may not be displayed.

Operating Guide

Shows the button names and the operations that can be done when the

 

directory is being displayed.

Blank

Shows the blank (non-recorded) sections and the maximum amount of time

 

for which a new recording can be made at the EP speed.

Program Number

Shows the number of the recorded program registered by the VCR. This

 

number will be highlighted when selected.

Viewed Mark

Shows that you have already watched more than half of a recorded program

 

from its start.

NOTES:

There may be a 3 minute difference between the recorded time displayed and the actual recorded time.

If the tape navigation does not appear

A)Play the tape for about 2 minutes from its start and then press the MENU button.

B)Fast forward (Rewind) the tape slightly until you reach the beginning of a recorded segment, then press the MENU button.

Storing tape data in memory

If you are using a T-120 tape for recording, no special procedure is required.

If you are using a T-140, T-160, T-180 or T-210 tape, you must select the type of tape you are using in order to properly store the data into memory.
