Pratiquer la première entaille à 1/3 du diamètre de la pièce et finir la coupe des 2/3 restant depuis le côté opposé. À mesure qu’elle est coupée, la bille a tendance à ployer. Si la première coupe dépasse le tiers du diamètre de la bille, la lame risque d’être pincée ou bloquée dans l’entaille.

Prêter une attention particulière aux billes sous contrainte pour éviter que le guide et la chaîne ne soient pincés.

Commencer sur le haut de la bille, le bas de la scie appuyé contre le bois et exercer une légère pression vers le bas. Noter que la scie aura tendance à tirer vers l’avant.

Commencer sur le bas de la bille, le haut de la scie appuyé contre le bois et exercer une légère pression vers le haut. Noter que la scie aura tendance à pousser vers l’utilisateur. Être préparé à cette réaction et maintenir la scie fermement pour garder le contrôle.
