PUMP SERVICE Pump Chamber Flushing
With the engine stopped, the pump case should be flushed after each
use to prevent sediment from building up in the case.
1. Disconnect the suction and discharge hoses.
2. Insert a garden hose into the suction side of the pump. Turn on the
water and thoroughly flush sediment out the discharge side.
3. After flushing, lift the suction side of the pump and allow water to
drain out the discharge side.
Pump Hoses and Strainer
Make sure both hoses are not
torn or cracked. It is especially
important that there are no tears
in the suction hose. Tears or air
leaks on the suction side will
prevent the pump from priming
properly.
