press and hold DOWN () button for 2 seconds to begin a new signal
search. If the signal still isnt receiv ed, please make sure that:
· The remote sensor is in its proper location.
· The distance between main unit and r emote sensor(s) is not over
100 feet (30meters).
· The path between units is clear of obs tacles. Shorten the
distance if necessary.
· Fresh batteries are installed corr ectly in both remote sensor and
main unit.
If there is no reception, perform the follow ing steps:
· Bring the main unit and remote sens or close together.
· Remove four (4) small screws from the bac k of the remote sensor
with small Phillips screwdriver, and open the batter y
compartment.
· Remove the batteries from the batter y compartment and reinstall
them in the same manner. Remote sens or LED indicator will flash
showing transmission of the signal.
· Remove the batteries from the main unit and r einstall them in the
same manner.
· Set the main unit CHANNEL to the same c hannel set on the
remote sensor. When the transmission is successfully received
the remote temperature will appear on the main units display.
TRANSMISSION COLLIS ION
Signals from the other household dev ices such as wireless doorbells ,
home security systems, and entr y control, may interfere with this produc t
or cause temporary reception inter ruption. This is normal and will not
14
affect the general performance of the pr oduct. The transmission and
reception of the temperature readi ngs will resume once the interference
subsides.
WWVB RADIO CONTR OLLED TIME
The NIST (National Institute of Standar ds and Technology) radio s tation
(WWVB) is located in Ft. Collins, C olorado. It transmits an exact time
signal continuously throughout the mos t of the continental United States.
The Weather Forecaster receiv es the WWVB signal through the inter nal
antenna from up to 2,000 miles aw ay. The radio controlled clock will
search for the atomic time signal. D ue to signal strength reception can be
limited during the daylight hours .
The WWVB tower icon on the main units display will flash indicating a
radio signal reception from the WWVB s tation. If the tower icon is not fully
lit, or if the time and date are not set automatically, please consider the
following:
· During night-time hours, atmospher ic disturbances are reduced
and radio signal reception may impr ove. A single daily reception
is sufficient to keep the clock acc uracy within 1 second.
· Make sure the unit is placed at 8 feet (2 meters) away from
interference sources: TV, computer monitor , microwave, etc.
· The received signal may be weak ened within metal or concrete
wall rooms such as basements or office buildings. Place the
Projection Clock near the window for best reception.
ATOMIC CLOCK
Immediately after establishing communication betw een the main unit and
remote sensor, the atomic time signal r eceiver will open and start to
