Cleaningthe ExhaustFilter
NOTE:Thisis located on the rear of the vacuum cleaner .
Step I
Releasethe exhaust filter cover and remove the cover as shown . Removethe filter by pulling the tab towardsyou .
Step ll
Tap the pleated filter on the inside of a trash can to remove excessdust and dirt .
WARNING:Do not apply water to pleated filter.
N OTE: Replace filter if any sign of d a m a g e .
Steplll
Once c'leaned return the exhaust filter to the vacuum cleaner . Replacethe exhaust filter cover before restartingthe vacu - um cleaner .

When purchasinga new HEPA Exhaust Filter, ask for HOOVERpart no . AH400to.
PowerNozzlebelt replacement
The belt in your power nozzle drives the agitator . lt has been designedspecifically for use in this cleanerand is important for effective operation .
What to buy
There are other belts manufactured that are similarin shapeand size,but are not designed for the HOOVERpower nozzle.
Such belts do not operatethe agitator cor - rectly and may createstresswhich could
damageyour power nozzle. Use only a genuine HOOVERBelt part no . AH20000 when a belt replacementis necessary .
Whento replace
The belt should be checkedfrom time to time to be sure it is in good condition . To check,remove the hood (seefollowing sec - tion) . Replacethe belt if it is stretched,cut, or broken.
Howto replace
Step I
Disconnectcleaner from e'lectrical outlet and discon - nect power nozzle from extension
w a n d .
To remove hood, turn nozzle over and unscrew the
7recessedPhillips head screws .
Stepll
Return nozzle to original posi - tion . Lower Quick Disconnectby depressingdown the handlerelease pedal and lift off the hood .
