10. Power Requirements

The Microwave Converter requires a power source of 115, 230 Vac (+lo%,-20%),48to 66 Hz. Power consumption is 20 VA maximum.

11. Line Voltage Selection

Before the instrument is plugged in, it must De set to the voltage of the power source, or damage to the instrument may result.

A line voltage switch enables selection of either 11SV or 230V. The line voltage is indicated on this rear-panel switch. Slide the switch to the proper line voltage for operation.

12. Power Cables

BEFORE CONNECTING THIS INSTRUMENT, the protective earth terminal of the instrument must be connected to the protective conductor of the (Mains) power cord. The Mains plug shall only be inserted in a socket outlet provided with a protective earth contact. The protective action must not be negated by the use of an extension cord (power cable) without a protective conductor (grounding). Grounding one conductor of a two-conductor outlet is not sufficient protection.

This instrument is provided with a three-wire power cable. When connected to an appropriate ac power receptacle, this cable grounds the instrument cabinet. The type of power-cable plug shipped with the instrument depends on the country of destination. See Table 5 for part numbers of the available power cables and Mains plugs.

13. Mating Connectors

All coaxial connectors (except the RF Input) used with the Microwave Converter are provided on the three accessory cables supplied with the instrument listed under Paragraph 6, I ' Accessories Supplied 'I. The RF Input connector should be of the APC 3.5 mm female SO ohm type. Refer to Table 2, Supplemental Characteristics for the correct type and location for mating each connector.

Use the correct torque wrench when installing sub-miniature connectors.

Tighten 3.5 mm connectors to 0.7 N.m (6.3 in.Eb). Tighten Type-N connectors to 0.7 N m (6.3 in.lb).
