Upgrading or Replacing the Cache

WARNING: There is a risk of explosion, fire, or personal injury if the battery pack is not properly handled. Refer to Appendix B and the Battery Replacement Notice in Appendix A before installing or removing the cache.

To remove the cache module, open the DIMM ejector latches (1) on each side of the DIMM connector, and then pull the cache out of the DIMM slot (2).

This drawing represents the Smart Array 642 Controller. The cache on the Smart Array 641 Controller is removed in an identical manner.

To replace the cache module, reverse this procedure.
