The data is backed up in the file device with an .fd extension. You can use the strings utility to search and validate a specific key string in the file, and verify if the backup is successful.
Step 15 To perform an incremental backup using HP OpenView Storage Data Protector, complete the following steps:
1.Append test incremental data to the sample file on the source client system.
2.Select Backup in the Data Protector Cell Manager Context.
3.Expand Backup Specifications in the scoping pane,
4.In the Create New Backup dialog box, select the default Blank File System Backup.
5.Select the sample files that must be backed up in the sample directory, as shown in the following figure:
