PS Protocol Menu for Optional Network Interfaces
These options for the PS Protocol menus for optional network
interface cards set the binary communications protocol (BCP) for
communicating over that interface to a PostScript printer. The
default option is normal. Any change to this menu takes effect
immediately.

Normal Enables standard, ASCII hex protoc ol. Data is sent an d
received in ASCII format. This mode is reco mmende d
if you do not print binary data. It was designed for data
in the printable ASCII range. Print jobs can alter t he PS
protocol value through PostScript operators.

Fixed Enables standard, ASCII hex protocol. Print jobs can
not alter this value through PostScript operators.
QBinary Quoted Binary. Enables binary communications
protocol. Print jobs can alter this value through
PostScript operators. Data in t he p rintable ASCII ra nge
also prints. Use the special quo ting mechanism for the
special characters and ^D (EOF).
