1.3.2 IBM RS/6000 7014 Model T42 Enterprise Rack
The 2.0 m (79.3 inches) Model T42 i s the rack that will address the special requirements of
customers who want a tall enclosure to house the ma ximum amount of equipment in the
smallest possible floor space. The features that differ in the Model T42 rack from the Model
T00 include the following:

򐂰Model T42 supports AC only.

1.3.3 Rack mounting rules for Model 6C1
There are some rules that should be considered when mounting drawers into a rack. These
are as follows:
򐂰The Model 6C1 is designed to be placed at any location in the rack.
򐂰Any remaining space in the rack can be used for storage, such as 7133-D40 or 2104-DU3,
if desired.
򐂰According to the IBM ^ pSeries 610 Models 6C1 and 6E1 Installation Guide,
SA38-0597, you have to remove the blue wheel-shaped knobs from the ser ver after you
have installed the Model 6C1 in a rack. Store the knobs in a safe place to use them in case
you need to remove the server from the rack at a later time. If you are not able to find them
at a later time, you will need to order t wo of part number 09N7997.
A Model 6C1 is 5 U in height, so a maximum of seven Model 6C1s fit in a T00 rack, or you
can put eight Model 6C1s in a T42 rack.
Each Model 6C1 is shipped with a rack mounting template, which helps you to easily place
the cage nuts in the correct position in a rack.
1.3.4 Flat Panel Display Options
For rack-mounted systems, there is the ability to install a system console to the hardware
mounted in a system rack. This monitor combines a bright 15-inch viewable image and
1024 x 768 addressability with a space-saving package design. Using thin film transistor
(TFT) LCD technology, the T54A features a 304.1 mm x 228.1 mm viewable area with
flicker-free display of the primary XGA-mode (1024 x 768) and full-screen support for other
common Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) and industry modes. The
7316-TF1 console has the following attributes:
