Removing a Fibre Channel Tape Drive from an Enclosure

To remove an IBM TotalStorage LTO Ultrium 2 Tape Drive Model T400F from an enclosure, perform the following steps:

1.Ensure that the tape drive does not contain a tape cartridge.

2.Deconfigure the drive from the server, switch, or hub (for instructions, see the documentation for these devices).

3.Turn off the power to the enclosure. Disconnect the power cable from the enclosure and the electrical outlet.

4. Disconnect the internal power cable from the power connector (see

in

Figure 29).

 

5.If connected, disconnect the internal LDI (RS-422) cable from the LDI (RS-422)

connector .

6.

Disconnect the internal fiber cable from the Fibre Channel connector

7.

Disconnect the LID/status connector

8.

Disconnect the FC configuration/status connector

.

 

9.

Remove the mounting screws from the side brackets of the chassis (see

Figure 8 on page 26).

 

 

 

10.Remove the tape drive from the enclosure.

11.To reassemble, reverse these steps.
