Chapter 2 — Configuring the PB50

To configure the printer to use WPA-PSK or WPA2-PSK mode

1Send the following commands to login as an admin and set the SSID:

<STX><ESC>.x,su -p pass admin<ETX> <STX><SI>ws,SSID,xxxxx<ETX>

where xxxxx can be from 0 to 32 alphanumeric characters.

2Send one of the following commands to turn on WPA or WPA2 authentication. Send the WPA-PSK or WPA2-PSK command to set a pre-shared key:

<STX><SI>ws,WPA,ON<ETX>

<STX><SI>ws,WPA2,ON<ETX> <STX><SI>ws,WPA_PSK, xxxxxxxxxx<ETX>

where xxxxxxxxxx is a value between 8 and 64 characters.

3Send the following command to activate the settings:

<STX><SI>ws,ACTIVE,1<ETX>

To configure the PB50 to use WPA or WPA2 Enterprise mode

1Send the following commands to login as an admin and set the SSID:

<STX><ESC>.x,su -p pass admin<ETX> <STX><SI>ws,SSID,xxxxx<ETX>

where xxxxx can be from 0 to 32 alphanumeric characters.

Note: The default password for logging in as an admin is “pass.” If you have changed the password, you will need to use your password instead of “pass.”

2Send one of the following commands to enable WPA-802.1x or WPA2-802.1x authentication. You should also send the WPA_PSK command that does not contain a value:

<STX><SI>ws,WPA,ON<ETX>

<STX><SI>ws,WPA2,ON<ETX> <STX><SI>ws,WPA_PSK, <ETX>

3Send these commands to configure the EAP_TYPE:

<STX><SI>ws,EAP_TYPE,xxxx<ETX>

where xxxx can be OFF, LEAP, PEAP, or TTLS.

<STX><SI>ws,.EAP_USER,xxxx<ETX> <STX><SI>ws,.EAP_PASS,xxxx<ETX>
