Yournewcooktopburnershavebeenpresetfor an"average"setof conditions.Regional variancesin gaspressureand atmosphericconditionssuch as height abovesea level mayaffect your initialflame performance.
Whenthe controlknob isturned ON, gasentersthe mixertube and mixeswith air. This airand gasmixtureflowsto the burnerhead and is lightedby a sparkfromthe solid state igniter.
A properlyadjusted burnerwith clean ports will light within a few seconds. The cone- shapedflamewill be clear blue in colorwith a clearly definedinner cone. There should benotraceof yellowinthe flame. Ayellowflameindicatesanimpropermixtureof airand gas. If your flamedoesnot resemblethe "correct"flameas describedabove, followthe air shutteradjustmentinstructionsbelow.
Thevariablesurfacecontrolsforthe surfaceburnersandgrill burnerprovideflexibility in setting selection.
Note: The grill can be replacedwith an optional surface burnermodule,ModelAG202.
Surface Burners
Incase ofprolongedpowerfailure,youcanmanuallylightthesurfaceburnerby holding alightedmatchneartheburnerportsandslowlyturningthecontrolknobcounterclockwise (afterdepressing)until thegas ignites. There is no fan so smokeand condensationcan gather.
Grill
IN CASEOF POWERFAILUREOR IFTHE DOWNDRAFTFAN IS INOPERABLE,DO NOT USE GRILL. VENTILATIONSYSTEM WILLNOTOPERATE.
