21. Maintain a balanced stance at all tim es so that you do not f all or l ean agai nst the auger and c hi sel or
other moving parts. Do not overreach or use excessive force to perform any machine operation.
22. Use the right tool at the correct speed and f eed rat e. Do not force a t ool or attac hment to do a j ob for
which it was not designed. The right tool will do the job better and safer.
23. Use recommended accessories; im pr oper accessories may be hazardous.
24. Maintain tools with care. Keep augers and chisels sharp and clean for the best and safest
performance. Follow instructions for lubricating and changing accessories.
25. Make sure the work piece is securely clam ped against table and/or f ence. Never use your hand to
hold the work piece.
26. Do not turn on the power while the auger or chisel is contac t ing a workpiece.
27. Turn off the machi ne bef ore cleaning. Use a brush or compressed air to rem ove chips or debris — do
not use your hands.
28. Do not stand on the machine. Serious injury c ould oc c ur if the mac hine tips over.
29. Never leave the machine runni ng unattended. T urn the power off and do not l eav e the morti ser until
the auger comes to a complete stop.
30. Remove loose items and unnecessary work pieces f rom the area before starting the machine.
