Using the Microphones
Turn MIC LEVEL to MIN.

Using the Microphones

You can enjoy singing along (Karaoke) and microphone mixing by using two microphones.

MIC LEVEL adjustment is valid for both microphones connected to the MIC 1 and MIC 2 jacks.

IMPORTANT:

Always set MIC LEVEL to MIN when connecting or disconnecting the microphone.

When you do not use the microphone, keep it microphones unconnected.

DO NOT forget to cancel the Karaoke mode by pressing V. MASK while holding SHIFT after you finish enjoying Karaoke. Otherwise normal playback cannot be started.

Singing along (Karaoke)

Vocal Masking

Vocal Masking reduces the lead vocal of any playing source, and allows you to replace it by singing into the microphones as the music plays.

Vocal Masking continues to function even though you change the source.

2 Connect the microphone(s) (not supplied) by plugging it into the MIC 1 and/or MIC 2 jack.

3 Press V. MASK while

 

holding down SHIFT on

the remote control.

 

The karaoke ( ) indicator lights

 

up on the display.

 

4 Start playing the source—DVD/SVCD/VCD/ CD player, tape, FM/AM tuner or other connected component.

5 Turn MIC LEVEL and VOLUME as you sing into the microphone(s).

• By pressing REC START/STOP, you can record your singing along if you want. (See page 32.)

To apply an echo to your voice

You can apply echo effect to your voice.

On the remote control ONLY:

Press ECHO while holding

 

 

 

down SHIFT.

• Each time you press the buttons,

 

 

 

the echo level changes as follows.

 

 

 

As the number increases, a

 

 

 

stronger echo effect applies to

 

 

 

your voice.

To adjust the Key

You can adjust the key of the disc to fit to your voice.

This function is available while playing back discs loaded on the DVD/SVCD/VCD/CD player.

On the remote control ONLY:

Press KEY CONTROL # or

+

I while holding down SHIFT

to adjust the key.

 

The following display appears.

 

Adjustable key range is “–6” to “6.”

 

To raise the key, press KEY CONTROL #.

To lower the key, press KEY CONTROL I.

You can also check your key adjustment on the TV screen.

To cancel the key control, set the key to “KEYCON 0” by pressing KEY CONTROL # or I.

When the current playing title or track finishes

the key returns to “KEYCON 0.”
