Taking pictures using the AF lock

For special situations where AF may not work (page 33):

1Set the AE/AF Lock button to AF.

2Place the Framing marks on the main subject.

3Press the AE/AF Lock button.

4Recompose the picture and press the Shutter button halfway to lock the

exposure position.

5Press the Shutter button completely down to take the picture.

NOTE: The AF lock function lets you release the Shutter button to recompose the picture.

Using the program button

You can program this button in Capture and Review. The button is a shortcut to your favorite settings. For example, if you frequently adjust the White balance settings, you can program this button to bring up the White balance sub-menu—no need to access the menu to search for it. The Program button may be unavailable in some modes.

NOTE: The Program button assignment is kept until you change it in Setup menu or reprogram it by holding the Program button.

Program the button

In Capture or Review, press

1Program to bring up a sub-menu. (Press again to exit.)

2 to highlight a setting.

3Press OK or Set.

Press the Program button 3 seconds to access your favorite shortcut setting.
