Taking pictures using the AF lock

For special situations where AF may not work (page 33):
1Set the AE/AF Lock button to AF.
2Place the Framing marks on the main subject.
3Press the AE/AF Lock button.
4Recompose the picture and press the Shutter button halfway to lock the
exposure position.
5Press the Shutter button completely down to take the picture.
NOTE: The AF l ock function lets you release the Shutte r button to recompose the picture.
Using the program button
You can program this button in Capture and Review. The button is a shortcut to your
favorite settings. For example, if you frequently adjust the White balance settings, you
can program this button to bring up the White balance sub-menu—no need to access
the menu to sea rch for it. The Prog ram button may be un available in some m odes.
NOTE: For rapid setting changes, see page 40.
