Using the Standby Reception
You can use three types of Standby Reception.
•Road Traffic News Standby Reception
•Announcement Standby Reception
•PTY Standby Reception
Using Road Traffic News Standby
Reception
Road Traffic News Standby Reception allows the unit to switch temporarily to Road Traffic News (or Traffic Announcement) from any source except AM.
•If a Road Traffic News (or Traffic Announcement) starts broadcasting, “Traffic News” appears and the unit tunes into the service (or FM RDS station) broadcasting Road Traffic News (or Traffic Announcement). The volume changes to the preset TA volume level (see page 37).
To activate Road Traffic News Standby Reception (and TA Standby Reception):
TP indicator
(either lights up or flashes)
•If the TP indicator lights up, Road Traffic News Standby Reception (or TA Standby Reception) is activated.
–When a service which is supporting Road Traffic News is received. This unit now stands by for the Road Traffic News signal
–When a service which is not supporting Road Traffic News signal is received. This unit now stands by for the TA signal
•If the TP indicator flashes, Road Traffic News Standby Reception is not yet activated.
To activate Road Traffic News Standby Reception, tune in to another DAB service supporting these signals.
When you tune in to such a service, the TP indicator stops flashing and remains lit. Now Road Traffic News Standby Reception is activated.
To deactivate the Road Traffic News Standby Reception (and TA Standby Reception):
TP indicator goes off.
