By connecting the XV-1000BK’s DIGITAL OUT with the digital optical input of an amplifier, DAT or MD using a digital cable, the digital stereo audio signal in a disc is directly transferred.

Note: Before actual usage, set “DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT” in the “PREFERENCE” display to “PCM ONLY,” otherwise, playing back a Dolby AC-3 encoded DVD may generate noise and, in the worse case, damage your speakers. See “Preference via "PREFERENCE" on-screen display” on pages 46, 47 and 48.

Supplying the AC power

Only when all the connections have been mede, insert the power plug into the wall outlet. The STANDBY indicator lights and the setup is complete.
