LPTank Exchange

•Many retailers that sell grills offeryou the option of replacing
yourempty LPtank through an exchange service. Useonly
those reputableexchange companies that inspect, precision fill,
testand certify their cylinders. Exchange your tank only for
an OPD safety feature-equipped tank as described in the
"LP Tank" section of this manual.
•Alwayskeep newand exchanged LP tanks in upright position
during use, transit or storage.
•Leak test new and exchanged LP tanks BEFORE
connecting to grill.
Connecting Regulator To The LP Tank
1.LPtank must be properly secured ontogrill. (Referto
assemblysection.)
2.Turnall control knobs to the OFF position.
3.TurnLP tank OFF by turning OPD hand wheel clockwiseto a
full stop.
4.Removethe protective cap from LP tank valve.Always use
capand strap supplied with valve.
LP Tank Leak Test
For your safety
Leaktest must be repeated each time LP tank isexchanged or
refilled.
*Do notsmoke during leak test.
*Do notuse an open flame to check for gas leaks.
*Grill must be leak tested outdoors ina well-ventilatedarea,
awayfrom ignition sources such as gasfired or electrical
appliances. During leak test, keep grillaway fromopen flames
or sparks.
•Usea clean paintbrush and a 50/50 mild soap and water
solution.Brush soapy solution onto areas indicated by arrows
in figure below. Leaks are indicated bygrowing bubbles.
If"growing" bubbles appeardo notuse or move the LP tank.
Contact an LP gas supplier oryour firedepartment!
ADo not use household cleaning agents. Damageto gas
traincomponents can result.

5.Hold regulatorand insert nipple into LP
tankvalve. Hand-tightenthe coupling
nut, holding regulator in a straightline
with LP tank valve so as not to cross-
threadthe connection.
Nipplehas tobe centered
intothe LPtank valve.
