About Printer Initialization

When you turn on the printer, it initializes (starts up and performs a self-check) in a few seconds. During this time, the POWER and MEDIA lights blink.

If the Printer Does Not Initialize

If the printer fails to initialize, no light illuminates on the display panel. Turn the printer off and then back on.

If a light still does not illuminate, turn off both the printer and the computer. Disconnect the USB cable from the printer and turn on the printer. If no light illuminates, call for service.
