Camera problems
Status Solution
Camera does not
turn on, off; buttons do
not function.
■Charge rechargeable batteries (see page1); replace
non-rechargeable batteries.
Camera freezes when
a card is inserted or
removed.
■Turn the camera off, then back on. Make sure the camera is
turned off before inserting or removing a card.
LCD is too dark. ■Adjust the LCD Brightness setting (see page46).
In Review, a blue or
black screen is
displayed instead of
a picture.
■Transfer the picture to the computer (see page36), then format
the card or internal memory (see page47).
Caution: Formatting a card deletes all pictures and
videos.
■Take another p icture.
In Review, you do not
see a picture (or the
expected picture) on
the LCD.
■Format the card in the camera (see page47)

Flash does not fire. ■Check the flash setting, and change as needed (see page14).

Settings feature did
not take effect.
■After using the Reset All Camera Settings feature (see page46),
turn the camera off and then on again.
