
ACCESSORY INFORMATION
This camera is designed to work specifically with lenses, flash units, and other accessories manufactured and distributed by Minolta. Using incompatible accessories with this camera may result in unsatisfactory performance or damage to the camera and accessories.
Lenses

Flashes
All Vectis, i, xi, and HS series flash units can be used with this camera.
•
To attach an accessory flash, remove the accessory shoe cap as shown.
•Dry the camera and flash contacts before mounting the flash.
•Advanced Photo System lenses require shorter focal lengths to obtain the same angle of view as their 35mm counterparts. Refer to the table below to determine the widest focal length your accessory flash will cover.

•Only Vectis series flashes are splashproof. Do not allow other series flash units to get wet.
Accessory Flash Control
When using an accessory flash with your camera, you may select any of the three flash modes. Please read the following instructions for selecting accessory flash modes.
Changing the flash mode
Press the camera flash- mode button to select the desired mode: AUTO ( ), ON ( ), or OFF (
).
• All information is transferred directly to the accessory flash.
Using the flash
Press the flash ON/OFF button to select the desired mode:

• Flash data is not transferred to the camera until the shutter- release button is pressed partway down.
