7 seconds, 15 seconds, or 30 seconds turns backlighting on for the set time after your last keypress.

7 sec. & in call, 15 sec. & in call, or 30 sec. & in call turns backlighting on for the duration of a call, and for the set time after your last keypress.

Note: The “in call” settings drain the battery more quickly.

Power save mode

You can conserve battery life by activating power save mode to dim the backlight. The power save mode sets the backlight to the lowest level. Select Menu > Settings > Display > Backlighting > Pwr Save Mode > On.

Auto-Hyphen

Auto-hyphenation, when enabled, automatically inserts hyphens into your phone numbers to be consistent with the U.S. dialing plan, such as 1-222-333-4444. Select Menu > Settings > Display > Auto-Hyphen> Enabled.

Language

Your phone can display alternative languages. Select Menu > Settings > Display > Language and a language.

Time and date format

Your phone can display different time/date formats. Select Menu > Settings > Display > Time/Date Format and a format.

Brightness

To change the brightness of the display:

1.Select Menu > Settings > Display > Brightness.

2.Scroll to change the brightness.

3.Select Save.

Keyguard

Lock the keyguard

The keyguard locks the external number keypad on your phone to prevent accidental keypresses when the phone is turned on and a call is not in progress. You can still answer or silence an incoming call.

To lock the keypad, press and hold the

*Shift key.

To unlock the keypad, select Keyguard and press the OK key.

Set the keyguard

You can set the phone to lock the keypad automatically when the flip is closed. Select Menu > Settings > My Phone > Keyguard > Guard on Close.
