Listening to DAB
What is DAB?
DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) is a technology for transmitting radio stations using digital signals, rather than the analogue signals used for FM and AM. Being digital provides DAB with a number of advantages over FM and AM. For one, DAB signals are not subject to the hiss and crackle (caused by hills, tall buildings and weather conditions) that can affect analogue signals. Another advantage is that the nature of the digital technology allows many stations to be transmitted on the one frequency, allowing broadcasters to provide a far wider range of programming.
All DAB stations broadcast the station’s name, and most also broadcast
Note:
Due to the nature of digital broadcasting, when using the AKURATE Tuner you may notice a short delay between selecting a DAB station and audio being heard.
