Follow these steps to set the rating level for your DVDs.

DVDs whose ratings exceed the level you set will not play.

With the unit in DVD mode, press SETUP

twice while play is stopped. The QUICK SETUP

screen will appear.

Press B to select CUSTOM at the top of the menu, then press ENTER.

4 Press the Number buttons to enter your four- digit password. Asterisks (*) will appear on the screen instead of numbers to protect the identity of the password. See page 34.

6 Press o or p to select a level, then press

ENTER.

The rating levels continue on two menu screens. Press

oor p repeatedly to move to the next or previous screen to find the rating level you want. After making your selection, the previous menu will appear. The level you selected will appear beside PARENTAL LEVEL. DVDs that have a higher or stricter rating will not play.

7 Press SETUP to remove the menu. The Parental settings will take effect the next time you insert a DVD.

RATING

EXPLANATIONS

ALL - The Parental feature is inactive; all discs can play.

8 - Adult material

7 - NC-17 - Not appropriate for children under 17

6 - R - Restricted; parental approval required for viewers under 18.

5 - More mature material than PG13, but less restrictive than R

4 - PG13 - Unsuitable for children under 13

3 - PG - Parental Guidance suggested.

2 - More mature material than G, but not as sensitive as PG.

1- G - General Audience; recommended for all ages.

Helpful Hints

When you try to play a DVD whose rating exceeds the level you set, an on-screen message will indicate the DVD cannot play. Remove the DVD, then set PARENTAL LEVEL to ALL . Reload the DVD and begin play. Some DVDs may let you enter your four- digit password to begin play. Follow the on-screen messages as prompted.

You cannot use the default pass- word (4737) to play a DVD.
