Finalizing CD-R & CD-RW discs

Finalizing is necessary to:

-be able to play the recorded CD-R/RW disc on a CD player.

-avoid further unwanted recordings on a disc.

-avoid erasure of tracks on a CD-RW.

Note:

-A finalized CD-R disc can never be recorded onto again.

-A finalized CD-RW disc can be unfinalized for continued re- cording.

-Finalizing is the process of writing the TOC (Table of Con- tents) on a disc so that a CD player can recognize the con- tents of the disc.

-The CD-Player drive is able to play back un-finalized CD-R and CD-RW discs.

Auto finalizing

Auto finalizing is possible when using the

record-

ing function.

Unfinalizing CD-RW discs

For CD-RW discs only.

If you want to make more recordings or erase unwanted tracks on a finalized disc, you must unfinalize it first. The unfinalize process erases the TOC (Table of Contents) from the disc.
