Fitting and replacing the charcoal filter
If the cooker hood is connected for recirculation, a charcoal filter must be inserted in addition to the grease filter. This is designed to absorb cooking odours.
It is fitted in the canopy above the grease filter.
New filters can be purchased from your Miele dealer or from the Miele Spare Parts Department.
See back cover for contact details, and "Technical data" for the model number of the filter.
Before fitting or replacing a charcoal filter, the grease filter must first be taken out (see previous section for instructions on how to do this).
Take the charcoal filter out of its
packaging.
Insert the charcoal filter into the canopy.
Replace the grease filter. When fitting for the first time:
Activate the operating hours counter (see "Use").
Always replace the charcoal filter im- mediately if
–the indicator lamp for the operating hours control lights up blue,
or
–if it is no longer effective in absorbing kitchen odours.
It should, however, be replaced at least every 6 months.
Used charcoal filters can be disposed of with the normal household waste.
After fitting a new charcoal filter, press the operating hours control twice and hold it pressed in for approximately 3 seconds to reset the operating hours counter.
The operating hours indicator lamp will go out.
If a charcoal filter is replaced before the operating hours counter has reached its maximum, the operating hours control should be pressed twice and held pressed in for approximately 6 seconds to reset the counter.
